PALS Inc is able to assist carers in accessing breaks and in accessing funding so that carers or clients can enjoy time out. Our Respite services aim to support the individual with a disability and their family and carers through the provision of short-term and time-limited breaks on a regular, occasional or emergency basis by providing the individual with positive and meaningful experiences. We can provide a range of various respite options for carers and people with a disability including in-home support, group activities, community access, overnight stays and holidays.
Gorman House – Yarrawonga Mulwala Respite House
PALS Inc Gorman House provides a range of planned and/or emergency respite services to children, adults aged care and people with disabilities throughout southern NSW, the Hume region in Victoria and beyond. This facility has a home like environment consisting of six separate bedrooms, configured as two high care rooms, three general rooms, plus an independent or transition unit. The transition unit can cater for individuals requiring more independent setting.
Gorman House support clients with a diverse range of disabilities or support requirements who require short to medium term respite accommodation and support. Gorman House does not blend adult and children’s respite stays and activities together, but at different times.
Gorman House is situated in Yarrawonga which is renowned for its wonderful climate, picturesque landscape and is an inland aquatic paradise featuring Lake Mulwala and the mighty Murray River.
PALS Gorman house is a planned respite facility where the cost of care is not directly subsidised by government funding. People pay a daily rate for respite programs which are staffed by professional, qualified and caring staff. Assistance with respite costs may be available under brokerage arrangements or subsides through Commonwealth Carers Respite, Villa Maria or other service providers that provide assistance in obtaining respite services.
Staff can be provided by PALS Inc or you are able to provide your own staff, volunteers or family to support people with a disability or the aged community to holiday in sunny PALS Gorman House is also available for booking by Service Providers, Special Groups and or other Agencies. Either with PALS Inc staff support or using your own carers, for your own unique experience in a popular tourist destination.
