The business enterprises have been developed to enable clients to gain employment whilst being in a supported environment. It also allows the clients to work in a community setting, where they can engage with a wide range of people.
Should clients wish to work in one of the business enterprisers, PALS Inc works with them to develop and build the appropriate skills allowing them to successfully work in each individual enterprise.
Our Opportunity Shops are located in Cobram and Numurkah and give clients the chance to develop retail skills, communication skills, work ethic and most importantly gets them involved in the wider community.
Clients also have the opportunity to work in the Cobram Opportunity Shop Cafe. This uses a whole different skill set as clients are involved in food preparation, store upkeep and customer interaction.
Clients offer a lawn mowing service to the community, this enables community interaction and brings upon team work as clients work together in a positive environment to get the job done.
Fresh flowers are sourced from local providers and then clients and staff work together to construct flower arrangements to be sold within the community.
The flowers are then delivered to local businesses, which are displayed in reception areas.
Clients work with experienced staff to build and construct a variety of products such as:
- Table and chairs
- Planter boxes
- Toilet paper holders
- Other products which are sold to the public.
PALS Inc run the Numurkah Primary School canteen. Clients gain skills in the preparation and serving of the food to the school children and social engagement skills through various forms of interaction.
Pamphlet preparation and delivery is done once a week and pamphlets are delivered on foot throughout the community.
Catering options are available from Cobram and Numurkah as their facilities are equipped to cater to a variety of functions. This enables clients to be involved in time management, food preparation and presentation.
