As the Team Leader to our Disability Support Workers in Cobram;  you will join an amazing team of people who assist persons with a disability in the community

 

Leadership and Service Excellence

  • Reporting to the Client Services Manager you will be a key leader in building programs and staffing to support those programs. You will excel in kind communication, demonstrating our values of Participation, Choice, Responsive, Innovative, Dignity & Respect and Accountability.  You will understand and deal compassionately with behaviour management and support plans, monitor incident reports, liaise with parents/carers and coordinate service delivery.  You will initially provide direct service to clients as programs grow and move to a more oversight role in supervising staff and directing programs.

Quality Assurance, Risk and Compliance

  • You will ensure compliance with Legislation, NDIS requirements and Organisational Policies & Procedures, participating in the development of these as required.  You will ensure all areas under your control comply with Workplace Safety Regulations and put in place strategies to manage identified risks safely, by minimising or eliminating the risks.

 Financial Management

  • You will control and coordinate your work area within budgetary constraints.  Assist client’s transition to NDIS in preparation of Quotes and developing and ensuring the implementation of Service Agreements in accordance to individual needs.

 Work Ethic 

  • You will possess a positive can-do attitude, be a self-starter with a high level of initiative and enthusiasm, a willingness to learn, flexible in nature and be able to support and cooperate with other staff.  You may be required to take calls out of hours from time to time

Client Champion  – Senior Disability Support Worker
Part-Time, 22.8 hours per week

Cobram location

PALS is a not-for-profit organization committed to providing services which supports individuals with a disability to participate fully in our community. This is achieved by offering client directed independent living programs, supported and independent accommodation services, employment options and training.

We are looking for a person who is passionate about supporting clients to achieve their goals and increase their independence. The role involves applying practical skills and experience to support clients in shared accommodation to improve their practical living skills, provide high quality care and assist them to engage with the greater community.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Implement and review individualised support plans.
  • Act as the primary organisational contact/expert for each client in the facility.
  • Develop strong relationships with key stake holders
  • Work as a skilled resource to fellow team members providing guidance.
  • Document clear and concise records
  • Work in close collaboration with the Team Leader and support staff to ensure positive client outcomes

Skills and experience:

  • Demonstrated experience in working with people with a disability/ relevant human services industry
  • Sound knowledge of and experience in coordinating with local services
  • Capacity to relate to people from differing cultural backgrounds
  • Well-developed understanding of work health and safety practices
  • Certificate IV in Mental Health/Disability Services
  • Australian Federal Police Check, WWCC, driver’s license and current first aid certificate

NDIS Intake and Business Development Leader

Full Time

Yarrawonga Location

Reporting to the Client Services Manager, you will:

  • Assist our current customers to transition to the NDIS
  • Manage customer enquiries and intake processes
  • Be the face of the company
  • Support customers to understand the NDIS
  • Contribute to the organisation’s strategic plan

More specifically, some of your key duties will include (but not be limited to):

  • Partnering with customers and their supporters to identify their goals and outcomes
  • Undertaking key activities for customer’s transitioning to the NDIS
  • Developing new business opportunities and marketing options
  • Support PALS’ transition to the NDIS
  • Developing and maintaining effective relationships with key stakeholders

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A tertiary qualification (preferable in health, disability or community services or business development/marketing areas)
  • Great interpersonal, verbal and written skills
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Competent computer and social media skills
  • Experience working with people with disability or other vulnerabilities (or a willingness to gain this experience)
  • A current full driver’s licence and car. The role requires travel within the Moira shire and surrounds

Disability Support Worker

Providing All Living Supports (PALS) Inc is a not-for-profit organization committed to providing services which support individuals living with a disability to participate fully in their communities.

We are currently seeking experienced disability support workers for casual positions within our organization.

We would prefer formal qualifications in Disability or Community Services (Certificate IV) or its equivalent but will consider experienced individuals along with a current First Aid certificate (Level2), Police checks and Drivers Licence. The role involves working shifts, weekends and sleepovers.
